Google is planning to introduce even more powerful and user-friendly features in next release of Android -Android “L”which is expected to hit market around late 2014. New Interface, better runtime for apps, more security are some of its major attractions:

  • Better Visual Appearance: The new visual appearance will be more colorful and animated. The transition between screens, clicks, and navigation buttons will be more user-friendly.
  • Improved Notifications: A new type of notification will be introduced in future version known as “heads ups”. If you are in middle of an activity, it will just give heads up about the incoming event giving you the choice to take action or dismiss. Thus, events like Incoming calls, messages etc, won’t really take control unless you choose to, thus, making less priority events less intrusive.
  • Battery Improvement: Battery life will be much improved in next version of Android. Battery drain can be tracked with the battery saver mode and non-essential services can be turned off or run in set intervals for extended battery life.
  • Monitoring Health: Google’s new framework “Google Fit” let you keep track of your physical activity and food intake and give you alert regarding heart rate, breathing etc.
  • Security: Unlocking your device in secured environment will be faster now. A new feature “personal unlocking” unlocks your phone automatically if you are in pre-programmed location or if it recognizes your voice.
